David has a good knowledge of the challenges faced by Trustees of pension schemes and the requirements for good governance. He is an experienced pensions governance professional with over 18 years’ experience in the pensions industry.

David has been appointed Scheme Secretary on several of our schemes, including multiple schemes that have the same sponsor and works closely with the Trustees and advisers to ensure the Scheme’s objectives are met. As Scheme Secretary he takes detailed, high-quality minutes, and ensures the minutes are produced in a timely manner for the trustees Trustees.

He provides support to the Trustee Directors, including coordinating trustee meetings, ensuring actions are progressed within an agreed timescale, reviewing discretionary member cases, managing budgets and scheme invoicing, maintaining core scheme documentation and ensuring projects are progressed to a high standard and completed on time.

David has worked with Trustees on completing various projects including Data Cleanse work, GMP Equalisation and Closure to accrual.

David previously worked at the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) for 12 years. In his role as Senior Qualifications Advisor, he co-ordinated various committees through examination sessions.

He has also worked for a third-party administrator and his role included work on Data Cleanse projects and GMP reconciliation.

David has built up good relationships with scheme sponsors and a wide range of scheme actuaries, consultants, lawyers and administrators from various high profile advisory firms.

David has qualified at Practitioner level for PRINCE2 and is a fully accredited Trustee by the Association of Professional Pension Trustees.
