Opportunities

The Role

The role will focus on maintaining good governance of occupational pension schemes. Such schemes may be ongoing, in the process of being wound up or in an Assessment Period for the Pension Protection Fund.

 

The role holder may also act as scheme secretary where so appointed, with support from a Trustee Manager or Director for any strategic decision.

 

The role holder will also be involved in projects and must be able to plan and deliver in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Experience in dealing with Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution occupational pension schemes.
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Pension Protection Fund experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrable Progress in professional qualifications e.g. PMI Award in Pensions Trusteeship, or Associateship and evidence of Continued Professional Development.

The Role

As a Trainee Assistant Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting our experienced trustees in delivering high-quality services. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop a deep understanding of pensions, and progress your career in a professional and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting trustees with the day-to-day management of pension schemes.
  • Preparing and organising documentation for trustee meetings.
  • Liaising with clients, advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth scheme operations.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and helping ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Providing administrative support to trustee boards and senior colleagues.

  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) or relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and develop expertise in pensions.
