Tegs, an established professional trustee and Head of Sustainability at IGG, brings extensive experience in overseeing pension schemes across various sectors, encompassing DC master trusts, DB, and hybrid schemes. As a qualified actuary, her expertise extends to profound insights into pension finance, risk management, and regulatory landscapes .

Prior to moving to Trusteeship, Tegs spent her career in investments, having previously worked as an investment consultant and on the sell side of an investment bank.

Tegs’ natural style is open, enthusiastic, and direct. She communicates effectively, simply, and clearly, working collaboratively with all stakeholders and advisers, whilst also offering strong decision-making skills, positive and supportive challenge, and an independent voice to her appointments.

Tegs is passionate about responsible investing and strongly believes that the way in which pension funds are invested impacts the future of our economy, our environment, and our society. She has experience of implementing net zero targets for pension schemes and sits on the APPT committee on ESG and climate change and is also a member of the Occupational Pension Scheme Council (OPSC) looking to improve stewardship standards.

Tegs is an Accredited Member of the APPT and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. She has the CFA certificate in ESG Investment.

  • Chairing the investment committees of several large schemes including a c£7bn defined benefit scheme.
  • Tegs was involved in the design of an investment strategy with a very long investment time horizon considering the challenges that investing for the long-term brings, such as demographic change, inflation, and climate change.
  • TCFD reporting for large Schemes.
  • Lead director on a DB Master trust.
  • Set up of a new type of pension scheme including working through the authorisation process, and leading on the investment strategy.
  • Implementing an ESG policy including net zero targets for three multi-billion schemes.
  • Leading on the selection and implementation of a move of DC arrangements to master trust for a large multi-sectioned scheme.
  • Leading on member communication on ESG and climate aware investing to improve member engagement and understanding around the schemes’ net zero ambition.
  • Designing and implementing changes in investment strategy including a broad range of public and private asset classes during 10 years as a senior investment consultant with a leading consultancy
  • Designed IGG’s internal policy on ESG for sole trustees appointments.
