David has 30 years of investment experience and is a natural collaborator. He works with trustees and stakeholders of large UK company pension schemes, both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC), helping them to meet their challenges and improve certainty and member outcomes.

His background in investment banking has seen David provide independent support and opinion on matters relating to funding and investment strategy to pension funds and insurance companies. He has developed policy, processes and procedures for Responsible Investment and takes a pragmatic approach to finding ESG solutions in the best interests of scheme members.

David has an open and direct style, with an innate bias to question and diligently challenge. He approaches problem solving in a collaborative manner, ensuring that all trustees participate in the decision-making process. He is comfortable managing people and projects, providing clear direction to the work of advisers, focusing on the big picture while being able to quickly understand and explain salient details. This approach is being successfully applied across scheme projects including valuations, buy-in, GMPe and DC Master Trust transfer.

He was previously Head of Fixed Income at Tesco Pension Investment where he directed the Liability Driven Investment program, chaired the Best Execution committee and was a member of the Tesco DC Governance Committee. He has also contributed to cashflow driven investment and asset allocation across asset classes.
