Andy Hitchcock

Andy has over 30 years of business experience, qualified as an accountant (CIMA) and has been a pension scheme trustee since 2014.

This brings a breadth of diverse experiences and perspectives to his trustee responsibilities. He has a deep and pragmatic understanding of risk and the importance of robust governance processes. During his time as a trustee, he has sat on the Investment Sub-Committee for a £1bn pension scheme and participated in investment strategy reviews. He has been heavily involved in key adviser reviews and selection processes and is actively engaged in risk transfer and Master Trust transfer decision making. He chairs an Administration Sub-Committee which has successfully concluded a significant GMP Equalisation project, is lead Trustee for a couple of Professional Corporate Sole Trustee (PCST) run schemes and has recently transitioned a client from co-trustee to PCST. He has experience of complex sponsor relations.

Andy comes from a career in a global mining and marketing company where he worked across a broad range of functions from production to business operations, sales and marketing and R&D including over 2 years in Africa. The latter part of his career was spent managing an operational finance team with additional responsibilities across business administration and facilities management amongst other things. This notably included project managing a multi-million pound office refurbishment during the pandemic.

Andy is a fully-accredited professional trustee with the Association of Professional Pension Trustees.
