The Role

We are looking to appoint a commercially focused Head of Business Development (BD) to lead our proactive sales efforts. Reporting into the Chief Business Development Officer, the Head of Business Development is central to achieving our growth ambitions, balancing new client acquisition with the development of existing client relationships. You will lead and develop a growing BD team, ensuring the firm proactively identifies, targets and subsequently converts new business opportunities and expands existing relationships.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading business development within a professional services or consultancy environment, ideally within a complex, relationship-driven industry. Pensions experience beneficial yet not essential.
  • Strong ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in structured, proactive sales processes, account management frameworks, and pipeline development.
  • Experience of developing, growing and leading a proactive team, balancing strategic pursuit planning with reactive proposal support.
  • A track record of winning high-value, complex B2B opportunities in a consultative sales environment.
  • Ability to balance a supporting vs. leading approach in BD, knowing when to enable internal teams and when to take direct control of the sales process.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen, with a data-driven approach to sales strategy, pricing, and market positioning.
  • Well-developed networking skills.
  • Experience using CRM and other sales enablement/automation systems and sales analytics tools to drive decision-making and reporting.
  • First-class communication and the gravitas and presence to command immediate credibility at all levels.

The Role

The role will focus on maintaining good governance of occupational pension schemes. Such schemes may be ongoing, in the process of being wound up or in an Assessment Period for the Pension Protection Fund.

 

The role holder may also act as scheme secretary where so appointed, with support from a Trustee Manager or Director for any strategic decision.

The Role

The role holder will be focused on providing a full range of governance and project management services for IGG clients. This may be through an IGG client appointment where IGG are Co-Trustee, Chair, the Professional Corporate Sole Trustee or where IGG have been engaged to provide stand-alone Trustee Governance Services.

 

The role holder may act as scheme secretary where so appointed, with support from Trustee Manager or Director for any strategic decision, and also have some exposure to schemes in PPF assessment.

 

Depending on the client, the Senior Associate may manage the day to day activities of an Associate or Assistant Associate to deliver the service efficiently.

The Role

The role holder will be expected to provide support to Trustee Directors by leading a full range of governance and project management services for clients within the company’s delegated authorities. This may be where the company are Chair, Co- Trustee, the Professional Corporate Sole Trustee or where we have been engaged to provide stand-alone Trustee Governance Services.

 

Once APPT accredited, and where IGG is appointed as the Professional Corporate Sole Trustee, they may also have the opportunity to take on key responsibilities as a Second Accredited Trustee.

 

The role may also have some exposure to Schemes in the PPF assessment process.

 

The Trustee Manager will have line management responsibilities and manage the day-to-day activities of one or more Assistant Associate, Associate or Senior Associate to deliver the service efficiently.

  • Accredited professional trustee or willingness to achieve accreditation within six months of joining.
  • Finance–detailed experience of preparing and monitoring budgets and invoicing.
  • Experience in a project management role within the Pensions industry.
