IGG acquires ProPensions

01 October 2026

IGG today announces the acquisition of ProPensions, strengthening its professional trusteeship and governance capabilities across the UK.

Founded in 2019, ProPensions has seen sustained growth since its establishment, based on a commitment to delivering high-quality, client-focused professional trusteeship, project management and consultancy services to clients throughout the UK.

By joining IGG, ProPensions is able to enhance its client offering further still through access to greater resources, investment and specialist expertise, while retaining the personalised service and responsiveness clients value today.

All five ProPensions trustees will join IGG, increasing IGG’s professional trustee capability and introducing additional expertise, insight and longstanding client relationships. Clients will continue to be served by their existing teams, ensuring consistency and stability of service.

The deal marks another significant step in IGG’s growth journey, following the acquisition of pensions consultancy KGC Associates last year, the launch of IGG’s Birmingham hub in May, and the recent launch of its Trustee-led Project Management Office. Additionally, it deepens IGG’s presence in Scotland, complementing the existing Edinburgh office, and grows its ability to serve clients across the country.

Andrew Bradshaw, CEO of IGG, said:

“ProPensions is an excellent fit for IGG, combining strong client relationships, specialist expertise and a culture that closely reflects our own. The acquisition builds on our existing presence in Scotland and gives us greater depth in the market.

“ProPensions is a highly respected business, and I look forward to welcoming the team to IGG. Our priority is to ensure a seamless transition for clients and our new colleagues, preserving the relationships and service they value while giving them access to the additional expertise and resources of the wider group.”

Mike Kennedy, Founder of ProPensions, said:

“IGG shares our commitment to high-quality trusteeship, strong client relationships and a culture built around doing the right thing for members and schemes. That cultural fit was particularly important to us, and I am entirely confident ProPensions will be a valuable addition to the wider group.

“For our clients, this is an opportunity to retain the personal service and trusted relationships they know, while benefiting from greater resources, investment and specialist expertise. It will help us continue to develop our offering and remain well positioned to support clients as the pensions landscape evolves.”

Michael Butler, Partner at ECI, said:

“Since our investment in IGG two years ago, the business has gone from strength to strength. This latest acquisition reflects the continued progress of the group and its ability to attract high-quality businesses that share its ambition and commitment to client service.

“We look forward to continuing to support the IGG team as it builds on its strong track record and further strengthens its position in the pensions trusteeship and governance services sector.”
