IGG Leads Industry Friends to Scale Three Peaks

16 June 2026

For the third consecutive year, IGG gathered a team of 20 individuals from across the pensions sector to take on the Three Peaks Challenge, completing it in under 24 hours. The challenge took place over the weekend of 6 – 7 June, with fundraising efforts exceeding £11,000 for four charities.

This year, IGG has chosen to support charities local to its regional hubs in Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol and Birmingham. This reflects a commitment to giving back to the local communities of each office while also creating a more personal connection for colleagues. The four charities selected were Wood Street Mission, Marmalade Trust, Acorns Children’s Hospice, and the Search and Rescue Dog Association (Scotland). Donations are still coming in, with the total expected to rise further.

The team included ten colleagues representing IGG: Charlie Stewart, Chris Alford, Ellen Jones, Gareth Vesty, Hannah Cosgrove, Helen Frisby, Jake Churchill, Laura Foley, Louise Davey and Tora Turton.

They were joined by industry friends: Amber Patel (LCP), Christine Van Doorn (PPF), Christopher Gore (WTW), Colin High (Aon), David Saunders (Sackers), Emily Carrington (Gowling), Laura Higgins (Isio), Laura McLaren (Hymans), Oliver Shaw (Mercer) and Robyn Brooks (Broadstone).

The Three Peaks Challenge sees participants climb and descend Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa – the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales – within a 24-hour period. The team set off on Saturday afternoon at 1:52 PM and completed the challenge the following day at 1:29 PM, finishing it under 24 hours.

Along the way, they experienced a wide range of weather conditions, including snow, high winds, rain, and bright sunshine. The expedition was coordinated and led by Chasing Summits.

Louise Davey, Trustee Director and Head of Policy and External Affairs, as well as one of the participants, commented:

“Taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge was both physically demanding and incredibly rewarding. What stood out most was the strength of teamwork and collaboration across the group. Everyone supported each other every step of the way, which made such a tough challenge feel achievable.

“I’m especially proud that we were able to come together to raise funds for four fantastic charities. The generosity and encouragement we received throughout made a real difference and kept us motivated. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and contributed so kindly to the fundraising.”

If you would like to support our fundraising efforts, please consider making a donation.
