Launch of our Sustainability Charter

The Charter, created by Tegs Harding our Head of Sustainability, lays out the actions we will take to direct industry attention towards the systemic investment risks posed by climate change and biodiversity loss. It also describes how we plan to work with clients and industry peers to promote sustainability, drive responsible investment and ensure that the long-term interests of members are best served.

The Charter includes promises to members as well as wider asks of advisers and asset managers, all designed to help us drive real-world change and act as a force for good within the industry.

Below are the promises we will sustain:

• To recognise that where money is invested for the long term, systemic risks like climate change, biodiversity loss and inequality pose real threats to the value of members’ benefits.
• To be transparent in our approach to sustainability and the way in which money is invested.
• To use our influence and voice in the industry to drive meaningful and wide-ranging change.

We will encourage the industry to collaborate to design common principles and approaches for assessing responsible investment.
