This statement is made on behalf of the Independent Governance Group, pursuant to section 54 (1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
The Independent Governance Group does not meet the criteria to publish an annual “slavery and human trafficking statement’ but we wish to acknowledge the importance that we place on ensuring that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within our supply chain.
Modern slavery, in all its forms of slavery and servitude, forced or compulsory labour and trafficking is a crime, and a violation of fundamental human rights, which will not be tolerated within our own business, or in any of our supply chains.
The Independent Governance Group employs in the order of 178 employees, each of whom works at our office(s) in London, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh or from their home.
Independent Governance Group is a service provider, rather than a manufacturer. While Independent Governance Group is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities, it believes that its supply chains are of low risk. Where we can, we will check with our suppliers to see that they share the views and beliefs expressed in this statement.
The Independent Governance Group has robust HR policies and procedures in place, to ensure the fair treatment of all employees. We comply with all applicable employment legislation relating to employee terms and conditions, including payroll, and we invest in supporting the health and wellbeing of our staff. We carry out fair and transparent recruitment processes.
Independent Governance Group encourages anyone, including employees and contractors to report, in good faith, any issue or concerns about potential unethical business practices, such as fraud and bribery or slavery and human trafficking through our confidential whistle blowing procedure.
This statement is approved by the Board.
