Clare is an experienced professional trustee, who excels in collaborative working. She has a proven history of fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders while combining extensive technical expertise with exceptional project management across a diverse client portfolio.

Clare is a member of IGG’s Professional Excellence Board and part of the senior team as Head of Outsourced Governance Services. As lead spokesperson in this area, she drives thought leadership and development, overseeing training, and driving knowledge sharing within the business.

Clare leads and supports professional trustee appointments in various capacities, including Sole Trustee, Co-Trustee, and Chair focussing primarily on schemes with assets under management of <£500m, as well as more complex schemes with significant regulatory involvement.

An excellent communicator at all levels, Clare inspires and leads with confidence, fostering a collaborative approach among all parties involved. Clare is known for offering practical, pragmatic solutions, ensuring open lines of communication between key stakeholders and challenging advisers where required. Her expertise spans both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) pension schemes; Clare has successfully led corporate projects, liability management and buy-in to buy-out exercises, as well as ensuring a collaborative and constructive approach to valuation discussions.

Clare has developed a particular passion and specialism in governance and risk management for pension schemes, making sure things are done in the right and proportionate way to reduce the operational risk of Trustee Boards. She understands the ‘governance overload’ Trustee Boards experience and can leverage her expertise and apply her broad operational pension governance / project management skills to help Schemes continue to meet the high governance expectations of the Pensions Regulator, ensuring they thrive through their strategic planning and long-term journey planning, within a cost-efficient framework, acting as a scheme’s “Regulatory Shield”.

Clare is a fully accredited professional trustee with the Association of Professional Pension Trustees and holds accreditation with the Pensions Management Institute.

“Clare is incredibly strong in her Trustee role, driving good decisions with a focus on putting the scheme in the best position and looking after the best interests of members whist being mindful of sponsor objectives. The Scheme we work on together has a clear plan to its end-game thanks to the Trusteeship of Clare and her team, and Clare has an excellent sponsor relationship which enables the very best outcomes.”
