Lewis Drew

Lewis oversees a broad portfolio of scheme appointments as a professional trustee, taking on roles such as co-trustee, Chair of Trustees, and sole corporate trustee. He also provides remote support to in-house pension teams in the absence of a pensions manager.

He has significant experience with complex committee structures and varied reporting lines, navigating negotiations during parent company acquisitions and establishing global governance frameworks, along with handling the daily tasks of a pensions manager/scheme secretary.

Lewis is experienced with funding negotiations and buy-ins. He adopts a collaborative approach with advisers and sponsors to efficiently complete projects while maintaining day-to-day governance. He has extensive experience in the role of Scheme Secretary, including working with non-professional trustees. In these roles, Lewis effectively communicates complex pension concepts in an accessible manner, aiding engagement with company stakeholders outside the pensions team.

As a professional trustee, Lewis has managed DC arrangements, ensuring Value for Members and has successfully completed wind-ups after transfers to Master Trusts. In the DB space, he has been involved with negotiations with The Pensions Regulator (TPR) and the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) on distressed employer cases, implemented successful de-risking, journey plans and led numerous buy-in transactions with the UK insurance market.

Before becoming a professional trustee, Lewis worked at a consultancy firm, as the lead administrator for several DB, DC and hybrid pension schemes.

Lewis is fully accredited as a professional trustee by the Association of Professional Pension Trustees.
